A jazz trombonist, Peter writes for both film and the concert hall, with commissions for pieces featuring solo trombone, flute trio and symphonic band. The Los Angeles Flute Orchestra commissioned his work "Under The Sun," which was released on their debut album The Stroke of Twelve. Peter was also commissioned by world-renowned Bandurist Victor Mishalow to write a suite for solo bandura, the national instrument of the Ukraine. Peter studied composition and jazz studies at Wayne State, where he was granted the Lefevre Award ('96), the Eisenbury Composition Prize ('97) and The Detroit Music Society Excellence Award ('98), then attended the University of Southern California's Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television advanced degree program.
